- $300 Male Virginia Opossum. NOT a beginner pet. Isn’t the most docile opossum but he warms up when he is taken out. He needs lots of socialization to become friendlier. Not neutered. Some of his territorialness may be associated with the fact that he is not neutered yet.
For comparison, The Animal Store in Lincolnwood sells Opossums for $700.
His name is Ted, his favorite snack is bananas and he eats a homemade meal every day. Recipe can be discussed privately if you’re interested. He’s a good boy under all his might and bite. Looking for someone who can really dedicate time, energy, and effort to make him a permanent family member. Eats from hand and accepts pets. Gotta be slow and gentle with him. Fairly potty trained, makes poop accidents occasionally, he’s still young and learning.

Needs a large cage with enough space for sleeping, climbing, litter box, and feeding area. A good place to start is around 2x3x6 feet (ALTHOUGH HE ROAMS OUTSIDE OF HIS CAGE VERY OFTEN AS THEY NEED EXERCISE AND ENRICHING EXPLORATIONS)
