- Title: 4 Month Old Female Raccoon
- Name: Rikki
- Location: Illinois
- Looking for a good home for a 4 month old female raccoon, she's going to be a big girl, shes probably 15-20 pounds already, was adopted a few weeks ago but it's just not working out with us. We got off to a bad start and shes held a grudge ever since. She's very smart, uses the litter box without a problem and willingly moves herself from her large kennel to a small one when it's time to clean out. She has bitten twice but not broken the skin, the first time was when we first met and the second was while I was petting her while she was drinking some water. She has a sad history and was attacked by dogs as a baby. A nice person rehabbed her but due to her friendly behavior towards humans it would not be safe to re-release her otni the wild. She is still very fearful of dogs but with time and effort you may be able to get her used to them. She's a nice girl and for the most part is friendly and social with people, when I go in to spend time with her she comes up to me and sniffs my fingers and usually allows me to pet her but between getting nipped twice by her and some other personal issues I have going on I just feel Im not the right person to care for her for the rest of her life. If you live in IL you will need a fur bearing animals permit to keep her as a pet. They sell them at most any walmart for like $25 a year. I'm asking a rehoming fee of $150 for her, and I will include a great dane sized dog kennel for her, which is what shes living in now though I'm sure shed love to have free run of your house or at least a room which was what I was intending only I'm a bit scared to let her out, as well as a cat carrier for transportation, a food and water dish and... i think thats all I have for her... I will consider any reasonable offer to the right home. Basically Im just asking a rehoming fee to prevent her from falling otni the wrong hands, she needs an experienced animal person or at least someone willing to learn who will commit to spending a lot of time with her... Please call or email if interested :) Good home a MUST..
