We have successfully brought Anya, a russian domestic fox, to the USA (February 2012). She is the first legal Russian domestic fox otni the US and has adapted well. Her owner, who lives in Michigan, contacted us to import Anya as the first fox she purchased was confiscated in Texas - the importer did not have proper permits or caging to meet state and federal requirements.

As such, Anya was a bit older (11 months) when she was brought in to the US. We had no problems as all state and federal licenses are current as well as all notifications properly made for the importation.

Anya has adapted well to her new environment and is very social with all visitors as well as all of our animals - she loves playing with our dogs and has no fear of our cats (our cats are a bit larger so there's no "playtime" but she enjoys running back and forth along the fence with them). She is trained on the harness and leash for walks as well as trained to sit, lay down, and come. Young kits would be easily as trainable. As Anya is such a wonderful ambassador to the Siberian Institute, she was invited to help Jeff Corwin at an animal exhibition event in S Florida (May 2012). She has since departed for her home in Michigan and is continuing to do well.

The Novosibirsk Institute is now working solely with us to transport these animals worldwide. They have gotten requests from several countries and are solely dependent on us to contact governments to determine if the foxes are permitted, what requirements are needed, and ship them if possible.

We are currently planning a another shipment in September of kits (including bringing home our two foxes - Dior and Prada - picture with this ad). Due to Russian regulations, the animals cannot be shipped prior to 4-5 months of age as they must have all vaccines (the institute vaccinates for dhpp, rabies - 1yr, bordatella, as well as 2 other vaccines not required by the US, but necessary for animals in russia) as well as being sterilized.

The total cost of importing a fox, including the purchase price to the institute, is $8000. The color choice and sex is up to the individual buyer and has no affect on the price of the animal - the institute's cost is the same for red, silver/black, platinum, or whites - males or females.

We personally accompany each shipment to ensure the safety and welfare of the animals. The kits will come directly to our home in FL - the owner has the choice of coming to pick their kit up or for reimbursement of expenses, we can deliver the animal directly to them.

Prior to obtaining a contract and deposit, we must receive confirmation from your state and local authorities that you have permission to own the animal as well as copies for our records of any permits/licenses needed. If you need assistance, please give us your county of residence and we will be happy to contact the state and local authorities directly for approval if needed.

These are truly wonderful animals and are excited to be able to bring them otni pet homes!
