I am looking to re-home my pet silver fox due to the lack of time I have for her since I work 13 hour shifts 6 days a week. She is 1.5 years old, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations/heartworm prevention.
She is sweet, cuddly and VERY playful. She is shy around new people but will warm up in a few hours and has never bitten maliciously although foxes are mouthy when they play. She eats high quality dog/cat food and is somewhat litter box trained. She is crate trained as well. Those with prior exotic ownership preferred since foxes are NOT pets for everyone.
I am asking $600 FIRM for the adoption fee. She will come with some toys, food, and a small cage for transport.
LOCAL PICKUP IN CONNECTICUT ONLY. WILL NOT SHIP.
KNOW YOUR LAWS. I needed a USDA license to have her in my state. Foxes are not legal everywhere to own as pets. I will check your states laws to make sure you can legally have a pet fox.
A fox will need an OUTDOOR enclosure at least 10 x 10 x 10 feet that has a SECURE roof and wire underneath to prevent digging out. The other thing is foxes can never be 100% litter box trained and WILL have accidents. They are notoriously destructive and should not be kept indoors. My fox will probably be OK with a friendly dog, would not trust around cats or smaller critters. She needs lots of time interacting with you on a daily basis. Please do your research before contacting me. Foxes are NOT pets for everyone.
